クリスチーン・マッカーシーは版画のなかでも特に手彩色をするリノ・カットの手法をとる版画家として知られている。「広重」には構成の「マチス」には色に関して強い影響を受けたと語る作品は、自然をテーマにしていて、自然の形、特に植物が持つ線や風合いを大切にしたものが多く見られる。ゆたかな色彩を表現した作品からはオーストラリアの自然を愛する心が感じられる。 1952年 南オーストラリア州、アデレード市生まれ。アデレード在住。
Christine McCarthy is best known for hand-coloured Lino Cut print. She claims to have been influenced by Japanese woodblock artist Hiroshige and Matisse for structure and color. The pattern of Nature, particularly the line and texture of plant forms have provided the theme of much of Christines work. You can see her love for nature in her works. Born in Adelaide in 1952.
